Inés is an architect, designer, teacher and researcher based in London with Madrid as a hometown. She studied at ETSAM, Polytechnic University of Madrid and UA University of Alicante, Spain. Went abroad for a year with the Magalhaes Scholarship to study in UNICAMP São Paulo, Brasil, and did her dissertation with a Santander Cooperation Scholarship in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

As a maker, she focuses on carpentry with a craft-based approach, and as an artist and researcher she is driven by a curiosity for the hidden narratives within urban landscapes, the quiet resilience of underground spaces, domesticated nature, and the elegance of structures, machinery, and care.

This practice feeds into her teaching methodologies, spatial design and urban research bring creative and technical expertise as well as a hands-on approach to the classroom, becoming tools for critical reflection.

Her work delves into the intrinsic qualities of materials. Celebrating the balance between heavy labor and gentle precision, she reveals contrasts in her practice, inviting deeper contemplation of the unseen order within our environments and the beauty found in overlooked spaces. She works primarily with wood and silver sculpture, complementing these with 3D scans, resin, wax, and malleable materials that navigate the transition between physical and digital realms. With La Cuarta Piel, they build installations and radical space interventions designing processes and human interaction.
Inés has exhibited at Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum, La Casa Encendida, Royal Academy of Arts, Goldsmisths, Lewsiham Art House, Centro Centro Cibeles, Milan Design Triennale, IVAM Museum, TEA Tenerife Space of Arts, Cigarreras Cultural Center, among others.

Has worked, taught and/or given lectures at Assemble Studios, AA Architectural Association, UCL Louvain, Kingston University, Caixaforum Madrid, Reina Sofía Museum, COAC Barcelona, CTAA Alicante, University of Alicante, FADU School of Architecture, ETSAM Madrid, and Montana State University.

hi, this is INÉS and I am forklift certified!

Among many other qualifications, this one makes me really proud - being a woman in the construction world means having to constantly prove yourself, to the people in charge in the industry, so instead of only using words i started using tools and making myself valued through the knowledge for them, for the machinery and for the materials.
